She's home

We were picked up at 9am and then we went to the orphanage and met Shella May. We talked to the director for several hours and then went to lunch. We had a tour of the property and got to meet all her friends and her aunties. We took some pictures of different things and asked her if she wanted some pictures. She has only spoken a few words so we don't know much yet about her or what she thinks. We have barely gotten a yes or no out of her when we ask a question. Usually she answers yes with an eyebrow lift. Here are a few pictures with more to come later.

She's beautiful! I can imagine the feelings that you all are feeling right now. She will appreciate all of the pictures that you guys were able to take of her home at the orphanage. Hope you all had a good wonderful first day together as a family.

I woke up early hoping there would be a new post. I agree with Jenny that she is beautiful!! and cute too!! I can hardly wait to give her a Grandma hug. I love the picture of her and Ryan. Don't worry about the lack of words - I am sure she is taking everything in and processing it all and then she will open up and be a chatterbox. I praise God that everything is working out and by His mercy each day will just get better and better. Love you all. Grandma Becky

julie, i'm happy for all of you. i hope it is not too long before she is a little less overwhelmed and can begin to share more of her world of thoughts with you. i had to laugh at your description of the 'yes' with an eyebrow lift. my husband made a similar observation about the various uses of the subtle eyebrow lift during his first visit there.

Your little girl is beautiful. Wow, it must be a surreal feeling to have her with you after all this time! You must have woken thismorning with a feeling of 'I can't believe she's finally with us'. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Thanks so much for taking the time to blog, and keeping us up-to-date.

We are soooo happy for you! We were eagerly waiting for your new post about you meeting Shella Mae. It is so funny about the eyebrow lift when she says yes. That is such a Filipino trait together with using their lips to point at things or give you direction. Looking forward to more posts, pictures and videos. Congrats!
