Just got to blog

As you know we have been waiting for the honeymoon to be over any day, expecting the worst. I would say the honeymoon is over today, but it went the opposite...to super great!
Yesterday we did some fun things and spent the day at home. We baked some cookies, went for a tour of the classroom and met her teacher, and we made our own word wall with the words she got from the teacher. One little thing we did yesterday was to learn "excuse me" after we burp. She tends to burp a lot and I thought she should learn to say it.So today...it is only 9am and we have grown leaps and bounds. She has burped several times and says excuse me with a smile. We got the laundry and sorted it,with a smile. She has been copying my words when I say random things like "good job" or talk to the dog or something. Really huge since she hasn't spoken much at all. Then I got the biggest smile ever this morning. We have been practicing the 4 words that her teacher gave her as flashcards. Yesterday we taped them all to the closet door. Last night every time we went by them we both read them. This morning she read them to me without any help. Then we sat down to read the small books the teacher gave her. I read them and she repeated after me. Then she read the books all by herself. I have never seen such a huge smile!!! She was so proud of herself for reading those books all by herself. Of course they weren't hard books, but we have to start somewhere. I wish I could describe the smile I saw, I almost started crying (and if you know me I'm not one to show much emotion).
I just wanted to share our wonderful milestone in learning and we look forward to many years of happiness coming from learning new things.

That is great. It sounds like a good way to start the day.

We can not wait to meet her.
