Missing Tooth Update

Yesterday Lance lost a tooth on the way to school. No picture is included because the missing tooth is in the back part of his mouth and the new tooth has already grown in beside it. I just thought I should give fair mention to the big kid, even though the missing tooth isn't as cute as those front ones of Liam's. (Let me tell you the tooth fairy is going broke from these kids!)

Lance's fundraising

Lance is doing a fundraiser. He has formed a team that is going to stroll for epilepsy. He is doing this because his best friend has epileptic seizures which he suffers both physically and emotionally from. It is hard to be in 5th grade and be different from the other kids. Lance is trying to form a team and raise money for this cause. Please go to Lance's link to donate, every little bit helps. Lance's words:
My best friend Oliver has seizures caused by epilepsy. Sometimes he has seizures in class and it is scary for both him and me. He just wants to be like "normal kids" and not worry about the seizures. That's why we created this team to raise money for research. We have 10 fifth graders from our school walking to help find a cure. Can you please help by giving a small donation. This will make Oliver and others very happy.

Today Lance and Liam were invited by friends to go to the Science Museum. We don't go there often and Lance has really been wanting to go. Of course I said yes to the offer without even asking the boys. When told of the offer Lance was excited, Liam did not want to go.

Lance asked Liam why he didn't want to go and Liam said he didn't know why, he just didn't. Lance told him that was not good enough and he explained it this way.

"You don't have to have a reason why you want to go to the museum, but you have to have a reason why you don't want to go. It is like smiling, you don't have to have a reason to have a smile, but you have to have a reason why you have a frown on your face."

I liked the way that he explained this to Liam.

Liam decided that he didn't have a reason not to go and he went to the museum. They had a great time and we thank our friends for taking them.
